1. Can the bevel protectors be used according to Aramco Specification?

Yes, Aramco prescribes a metal bevel protector (for sizes above 24”) with a 90 degrees angle.

The Dhatec bevel protector has a special buffer profile which protects better than a 90 degrees angle.

2. Which diameter tolerance can a bevel protector absorb?

A standard bevel protector can absorb + / - 2,5 mm tolerance in pipe diameter.

In case of larger diameter tolerances we advise the use of a reusable bevel protector with clips of different length.

3. Is Dhatec a certified company?

Yes, Dhatec is in possession of ISO 9001. Dhatec is certified by Lloyds' Quality Register.

A copy of our certificate can be sent to you on request.

7. Is the bevel protector re-usable?

Dhatec offers two different types of bevel protectors: a normal and a re-usable one. The re-usable bevel protector can be removed from the pipe by lifting the clamping system with help of a screwdriver. With a new separate clamping clip the bevel protector can be installed again. click here to view the normal and re-usable bevel protector

8. How many blasting plugs do I have to use?

One blasting plug is designed to last 500 – 1000 times (depending on the coating process). You always have to put one blasting plug in each pipe-end. Count howmany pipes you wish to prepare with blasting plugs before the coating process. Add to that the number of blasting plugs occupied during process. Finally you have to count the number of blasting plugs that are collected at the end of the process, before they are transported back to the beginning again. It is also advisable to have safety margin of two blasting plugs extra, in case of unexpected damage. click here to view the blasting plug

10. I want to order bevel protectors, but I already have plastic plugs, or sheets to combine them with. Do I have to mention this?

Yes, always tell us if the bevel protectors are going to be combined with other materials for pipe closure. Dhatec applies a diameter correction on the bevel protector, according to the thickness of the material used for pipe closure. Whithout this correction the bevel protector doesn't fit in combination with a plastic plug or sheet. The combination with plastic film will fit anyway, because the plastic film is very thin and flexible. However, the fit will not be optimal.
