The Blasting Plug is the first professional solution to provide effective bevel protection and pipe closure during external blasting. The Blasting Plug combines many advantages in one product. The effective pipe closure even makes it possible to do external blasting direct after internal coating, without having to dry the pipes first. The Blasting Plug allows coating companies to achieve the best pipe-end quality possible.

Dhatec creates a taylor-made Blasting Plug to fit perfectly in each process, however the basic construction remains the same. The Blasting Plug clamps strongly inside the pipe-end, using only 25 mm of clamping surface. The same Blasting Plug can be used to cover a wall thickness range of 5 mm. 

Blasting Plug options

The Blasting Plug can be expanded with several options depending on the process. The follwoing circumstances ask for a more specialized solution: High velocities of rotation, large diameter pipes, thin walled pipes, oval or curved pipes, high friction forces between pipes, high abbrasive forces, or unequal supporting rolls underneeth the pipes. The rougher the coating process, the more options are neccessary for good performance and a satisfactory life time of the blasting plug.  For each issue we can provide a solution. A complete overview can be found on the Option List.

The Blasting Plug will last 500-1500 runs depending on the blasting process and choice of options.
